CMS stands for Conversational Monitoring System and is an operating system
residing on the University of Connecticut's mainframe. This operating system
is very powerful and offers much functionality.
The purpose of this webpage
is to give new CMS users examples of how to perform routine tasks in the CMS
environment. It is not a complete manual for using the CMS environment. Assistance may also be available
by contacting the
Financial Systems Office at 486-5887, 486-3778, or 486-2412, typing HELP
from the CMS command prompt, or by calling the University's Help Desk at 486-HELP.
To enter a CMS environment the user must be assigned a CMS User ID and
a connection to the UConn mainframe either through TCP3270 or Hummingbird. Contact
the University's Help Desk at 486-HELP if these connections do not exist on
