Downloading from the Mainframe

To download a file, first make sure that your mainframe session is opened only to a READY prompt; No other mainframe application can be opened while doing file transfers. Next, you must choose the Receive file from Host from the Transfer Menu. You should see a window similar to the one shown below. The important fields are as follows:

Host File Name:This is the [FILENAME][FILTYPE][LOCATION] of the file you would like to download from the mainframe. Location will most like be A.
Scheme: The scheme should be set to CMS_Text for most downloads.
Local File Name: This is the name and location of where you will be saving your file on the local machine (PC). Click on the small folder icon to browse your files.

Click Receive once all of the information is correct, and your file should download. The Transfer List will show you the status of your transfer.
